As the lead guitarist for Metallica, Kirk Hammett has created some of the greatest and most memorable guitar solos over the years. In this lesson, I cover 10 licks in his style. I transposed all licks to the key of E, so that you can experiment with them easily.
There is a lot to get out of these licks. There is some usage of the harmonic minor scale, some tapping, some monster legato licks, and some pentatonics. Even if you are a blues player, there will be great things to take away from these licks.
