This is 7 funky rock licks in the key of A.
These licks are played over a Am – D9 backing track, and have a very fusion vibe.
There is a wide variety of techniques that I use here. There is a lot of alternate picking and legato. There are also some really lengthy pentatonic runs that any player will find very challenging! Lick 6 in particular can keep you busy for weeks!
Note the use of the Dorian scale here, and the notes that are targeted over both the Am and D9 chords.
