Chromatic Ascending Lick in B Minor
This is a B minor scale based lick with a couple great chromatic ideas.
The first idea is a simple ascending pattern. You can take this idea, and apply it to many different types of scales, and at different places within the scale shown here. The second chromatic idea is similar to a Stevie Ray Vaughan idea, where you do a little chromatic turnaround at the top of the main pentatonic position.
Chromatics are great, because they are easy to fit into licks you already know, and they get you out of the “boring” standard pentatonic scale territory.
Learn this lick, or just take some of the ideas from it and apply them to your own licks!
